Started in the year 1983-84, under the auspices of Nagarjuna Education Society, our school is named after late  Dr. K. Lakshmi Prasad, eldest son of Dr. K. Basavapunnaiah our cheif donor, one of the senior most doctors in Guntur, who is also a great educationist and Philanthropist.

We are not interested in making money. We are here to serve many!

There are currently 1050 students from LKG to Class X, with 34 professional staff and 16 support staff. The average teacher student ratio is less than 1:30. From Class V onwards students are divided into 4 houses & competitions conducted between them.

Our desire is to give quality education on a non profit basis. You can see for yourself if you to take time and visit the campus. We have very good staff members, all qualified, trained and very experienced in their job.

There are many Doctors, Engineers Lawyers and other professionals amongst our parents. Apart from private employees and business people, Central Government employees from a sizeable chunk of our parents. We do not wish to hide the fact that there are quite a few semiliterate/illiterate parents also. We simply cannot deny them an opportunity to study in a good school. Surprisingly very good students shape up from this segment… Since 1988, till now, we have been achieving 100% results in class X CBSE. Our highest mark was 473/500. This year, we wish to touch the magic number 480/500. Towards this end, all our efforts are directed!

THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Started in the year 1983-84 in a modest way with 130 students, the school has grown steadily over the past 24 years. At the beginning of the Silver Jubilee Year I am quite happy & satisfied to note that we have been catering to the needs of the urban middle class quite well. Year after year our students have been scoring good ranks at various competitive exams, and this is a proud testimony for our academic standards. We rededicate ourselves to the service of education.

KLP Stands for quality education imparted by a blend of traditional & modern methods of teaching. The huge campus, infrastructure & facilities provides for the alround development of a student. Set in a posh, urban background, with lush green lawns and easily accessible to most of the Gunturians, we also offer school bus service for distant aspirants.

The teaching staff, many postgraduates among them, are fully qualified & trained. Under the watchful eye of the Dean Mr. N. Koteswara Rao, M.Sc., who has over 40 years of teaching experience, the academic & extracurricular activities are well planned and executed.

Entering the ensuing year we would like to make the year 2010-11 a fruitful, special & memorable one with lots and lots of new activities!

Our school run by Nagarjuna Education Society, is unique and free from modern non--academic trends.  We humbly suggest that, any educational institution, especially at school level shall have the following :-

  1. A good infrastructure,
  2. Trained and hardworking teachers,
  3. Positive outlook, committed work, encouraging nature to the teachers,
  4. Scope for exposure, training in communication skills and stress on spoken English to the pupils,
  5. Provision for refreshing the brain by way of games and sports.

We are very proud, that, we have fulfilled all the above basic features.

"The quality of a nation depends upon the quality of people. The quality of people depends upon the quality of education. The quality of education depends upon the quality of teachers".

"Discipline is a refining furnace in which the ability transforms into energy".

"Education without aim is like a boat without sail".

The above 3 quotations are our guiding force.  We sincerely thrive in that direction.

I As a trained teacher having an experience of fifteen years teaching at all levels from KG to X, I would like to stress on the qualities of a true teacher.

A real teacher must take into consideration the Psychology, Temperament, IQ levels, likes and dislikes, grasping nature and memory power of pupils.

When the above features are in mind any teacher can do justice to his/her profession. In these days of neck to neck competition parents are aiming at high marks but not at Concept oriented education. By mere mugging the students may get very high percentage which is of no use in higher education.

We, the teachers working in KLP are fortunate in many aspects. We have academic freedom and  we believe in stress free education. The institution being a non-profitable Organization, the management provides everything what an ideal school needs for the all round development of pupils.  Here, in this school students are made to acquire knowledge not just by rote learning & book reading but by creative learning, which is CBSE’s prime objective.

Introduction of CCE concerned with holistic assessment of a learner along with the acquisition of essential life skills, attitudes & values, interests & achievements even in sports & games.

On the whole we confirm to the adage  “Those having torches will pass them on to others”.
